I've already shared my thoughts on this. The only two things I feel like is worth adding is:

1) People who don't like cons or places where a lot of people come together to begin with.

Some people are interested in conventions, some aren't. I wouldn't say I'm the greatest fan of large crowds, myself. Still I definitely like the idea in itself and if possible I'd definetely want to go. I always wanted to visit a convention, anime themed or the likes. I have heard a lot of issues people had with conventions because of their troubles to actually get into contact with anyone. As a result they were pretty negative about it. Others loved it. So that's always an individual issue.

2) The fanbase isn't that big
From what I heard, that's why it isn't a large con.

All in all, I'd like to see what'd come out of it, even if there were going to be a few problems. That could give ideas for how to do it better next time.

1) The cringe I mean is for the people in the con. I never even thought about the people walking by the convention because who cares about them? lol

2) A simple meet up is way cheaper then an entire convention. Anti-social people tend to make excuses to not show up where there will be alot of people (I would know, I'm pretty anti-social myself). With a meet up, its way cheaper and the person can just show up. For a convention, that's alot of money to spend on something he/she is not comfortable with. (Also I'm just guessing but I am just guessing that those anti-social people that did show up to that meet up you mention, most of the probably lived in New York.)

4)Everything I wrote came from the kickstarter page or talking to the people running the convention. Are they still assumptions, sure. But I don't just write things that Ik nothing about. I did my research and every thin I wrote are at the very least logical guesses. And never assume anything, sure most likely there will be more stuff there to do but until they tell us what more there will be to do, its just assumptions.

5) Just because you don't feel alienated doesn't mean others won't be. Sure, most likely there will be a lot more artists there to help fill that void but until they list who will be there---> Once again, assumptions

6) You think that, I think that. But you know for a fact that a lot of people will be going to the convention not thinking about it, get there and be pissed off because there will be mainly men there.

7) As somebody who has been on Kickstarter hundreds of times. I can probably safely say from the amount of money raised to the time left, unless somebody drops 10G's .... this Kickstarter will fail. :/

8) Even though I do agree with everything you said here, its not about how big our community is as a whole. Its about how many in our community is willing to drop that amount of cash for plane tickets, hotel tickets, convention tickets, food, and gifts. That's not even including the Kickstarter for the convention itself. And even though it is in New York, I doubt anyone out of the country will attend cause that will be even more money for over sea's plane tickets.

Hey, if you or anyone else is excited for this convention, go for it. I'm not saying don't be if you are. The only reason I wrote all that was cause most people are way to excited to think about the negatives, which sad to say there are a lot with this convention in particular. I just want people to not get to over excited and drop a lot of cash on something that may fail or succeed and then not like the convention cause its not what they thought it would be.

The only positive I am seeing from all this is meeting the people. But you can do that anyway if your really wanted to and you don't need to spend money on convention tickets and a kickstarter. Just saying.

1) cringe? what? maybe for "normal" people who don't know/understand the fetish. But I believe most of the city will have no idea we're even there... it's not a huge event in a convention center, it's like in a hotel lol. People can walk right by our convention and not know what's going on... unless there's some big posters or something idk lol

2) Of course some people are anti-social and they aren't expected to attend. Some "anti-social" people showed up to the NYC meetups I believe to try to find support or to grow more comfortable and accepting of themselves and their fetish. On the other hand, there are many outgoing individuals who will be attending

3) the location is a valid point of debate, because of the logistics and financial issues. However, our fetish community spans the globe and NY is a hub for many international flights and stuff. But I still see the point of people wondering if there could have been a better location

4) You're making a lot of assumptions about what will/won't be going on. For now I believe they have some general ideas of what they wanna do, but they still have many months to flesh it out and get diverse things going on. I wouldn't have assumed the main attraction is art... why would someone wanna travel all that distance and pay to get in and pay to get a physical copy of fetish art when they could buy it online? For me the main attraction is the people, talking to others and hearing their stories and how we each have many similarities but some different spins on things. The website lists a bunch of attractions so far, and I believe they will be better fleshed out as well as joined by other things

5) I don't like cruel, gore, giants, and not really into furry, but I do not feel alienated at all. There will be more than enough giantess stuff going on, and I believe that other fringe stuff will be present, but not oversaturated

6) I too have worried about it being a sausage fest. I assume there will mostly be straight guys there into giantess stuff. But there will be gay guys there into giants or being giants. And the more I get to know the community, the more I realize that a lot of girls in the community are actually into being tiny... like shrunken women into giants or giantesses. Anyway I'm sure there will be some girls there who fancy themselves giantesses. We just have to be respectful towards one another and not sexually harass anyone or make people feel uncomfortable. Maybe there will be some kind of RP area or event setup, but I think that's more suited for chatrooms than IRL.

7) I do actually agree it may be moving too fast. Planning it for summer 2016 seems ok for me, but only allowing one month for the kickstarter has me worried. So far it's not looking too great sadly. But maybe more people will hear about it and start buying tickets/donating. And maybe some of the rich fatcats in our community will make some generous contributions lol. Maybe wishful thinking tho X_x

8) I think our fanbase is totally big enough for a convention. But I don't think the kickstarter is allowing for enough time. Our community is pretty fragmented and divided among a bunch of different websites and communities. Some of the communities have different atmospheres and are into different aspects of the fetish. I think there's more macro/micro fans out there than we ourselves realize. Hell, some of us went through long portions of our lives not knowing/understanding/accepting who we are, so I believe there's still many out there just discovering it or finding the community. Even if we have numbers, that doesn't mean we can all afford the price of travel and ticket. So we'll see

I don't think the con is doomed to fail. Sure, I think it may have been pushed/rushed a little because they were excited/impatient to get it rolling, but when you have passion you just gotta go for it and take a risk sometimes! Maybe some people like you don't like conventions or have never gone, but I invite you to attend some convention sometime, they're so fun! Even "mainstream" conventions are great places for nerds and outcasts to meetup and feel connected. But I totally disagree that "there's no reason why this convention need to happen." There are tons of reasons why it can happen and can be good. Maybe there's reasons why the con can't/won't happen in 2016, but I feel it will come eventually, if not this first attempt.

I'm disappointed you're so pessimistic about it, but I appreciate your thoughts and your explanations. I try to be glass-half-full, but I also understand that shit doesn't always work out the way we want it to XD

Personally, I was very excited when I first heard about the con. I think it could be a great event to bring people together in a scene where we often feel like unconnected lone deviants lol. Finding the gts community years ago gave me a sense of belonging and I think the con could do the same for others. It's just a cool idea to me that we would have a space where like-minded individuals could gather to share their stories, fantasies, ideas, etc. There would be discussion panels, activities, special guests, artists, merchandise, and more!

That's not to say I am naive. They say "hope for the best, but plan for the worst." So while I am very hopeful and excited for this, I understand that it may not even happen...because their kickstarter initiative seems rather ambitious; trying to raise a relatively big amount of money in a relatively small amount of time for a relatively poor/fragmented community. I did already buy my ticket, but if the kickstarter doesn't reach its goal in time, I will be refunded.

It's ok that some people have offered constructive criticism about the event. But it's upsetting and frustrating that others can just be so negative/pessimistic/apathetic about it. Idk if some people are just basement dwellers who dismiss/hate/fear the idea of meeting their fellow size-fans IRL or if they're just negative about everything. Some have worried about us not being able to control our urges? I wonder if gay pride parades (or any other sexual community) and events have to worry about similar crap, like their members being inappropriate and trying to rape each other or something. Anyway people are people... some good and some bad. What I'm saying is that our community is no better or worse than others and if any bad eggs show up and cause trouble they will be dealt with. Besides, the idea for this event was born out of NYC size meetups happening the past few months... and those went well apparently and had no inappropriateness, even when it was a sausage fest with only one girl.

Other ridiculous complaints I've heard are some people who don't wanna see fans/content about size-furries, giants, trans giants/giantesses, etc. While I believe most of the community is into giantess stuff and the event will be mostly catered to that, we have to be accepting and inclusive of the fringe interests in our community. If you don't think you can stand seeing someone in a furry suit, or stand the idea that some people are into giants or gore or scat or whatever, then just don't come. We don't want haters there. On websites like here, you can use the filters or just not click/look at unwanted content... similarly at the event, you don't have to interact with everyone but you should treat them like fellow human beings at least.

I believe this con is inevitable and a good thing... and if it doesn't workout in 2016 then it will try again until it gets the support and momentum it needs. Even if it doesn't happen in 2016, I'm still proud of our community for trying to make it happen and trying to unify, connect, and empower us. Also, I love the symbol of the hearts that was developed, not just for the convention, but for all the size community <3

Lastly, regardless of the con happening or not, global meetups have started to be arranged! The con was born out of the NYC meetups, but people have stepped forward about organizing meetups in other cities and areas around the globe. 1) There is gonna be a lot of cringe gonna be happening around this convention. Like A LOT of cringe seeing its around a fetish.

2) A lot of people (at least who I communicate with) are pretty anti-social or don't like crowds so those people will not go or won't like the experience.

3) This convention is happening in one of the most expensive cities in America. Last time I checked, the economy ain't doing well. A good bit of people are just getting by and won't be able to afford Plane tickets, hotel tickets, convention tickets, paying for the kickstarter....

4) There is gonna be nothing to do there. I mean the main attraction to this convention is the art.... which I can just look at for free online. They said there gonna have models and some directors there.....fun. So I can talk to a model for like a min, get something signed and have to walk away so they can talk to the next person. That kills like 5 min. They also said they will have "experimenting with technology that allows us to bring the fetish to life in person"... That's from the kickstarter. They don't even mention what the hell this experimental tech is. To me it just sounds like there gonna just drop an Ocules Rift on a table and charge people. Not cool.

5) They are really alienating the fanbase. By that I mean at this point in time the only artists they mention that are gonna be there only focus on cruel/gore art which seeing as a major majority don't like the cruel stuff (like me) this is really alienating. And Ik other artists that are gonna be there and one would assume there will be some gentle stuff but if I have to assume, something ain't right here cause we all know what happens when people assume.

6) It's gonna be a sausage fest. Most of the antendies are going to be men. People are expecting alot of women to show up so they can RP there fantasies as the ladies as the GTS and themselves and the micro. Here's the thing most of the people that are gonna show up are gonna be dudes and the few ladies that do show up also would want to be a micro as well.

7) This is all happening way to fast. If this kickstarter passed and they waited a year are 2 to fully flush out the details, fine. But there not, its gonna be in 6 months.... 6 MONTHS?! That's fucking ridiculously quick to set up an entire convention. Ik that the guy that is creating the convention has experience working at conventions (at least that's what all the people setting up the convention keep saying) and even if that is true, it makes people think that this con will fail thanks to not enough time needed to flush everything out.

8) The fanbase is not big enough for a convention. I mean sure, our community of giant lady lovers do grow every day (no pun intended) but we are still way to small that needs an entire convention.

And to end this ridiculously long post, it's just not thought through fully. Taken into account everything that I wrote so far, this convention is just doomed to fail. Ik that the creators of this con loves conventions and that's why they are doing this but guys, just because you like conventions doesn't mean everybody else does. And even if everybody that shows up loves conventions, doesn't automatically mean this con will be a success. There is just so many obstacles preventing this convention that is not needed from happening that I doubt it will even pass the kickstarter phase.

Ik I am sounding like the glass is half empty kind of guy (which I am) but every thing I have written is based for the real world. There is no reason why this convention needs to happen.....

Now if given more time that this convention will require, everything gets thought through all the way, there is more stuff to do, in a more affordable city, and if/when there is alot more people in the fanbase...... maybe it might work then. Maybe.

Hm... Since there's been only negative posts about this, I'll take this chance to be the first to say something affirmative about this whole idea.

I also believe there's a chance that there could be a few problems, occuring during this event. First thing popping into my mind would be people not being able to control their urges.
But I guess that's actually not that much of an issue, since they stated they are going to have security present to make sure harrassment will have no chance.

Otherwise I don't understand why this shouldn't work. The whole idea is to meet like minded people.
I don't know about all of you, but I don't have a whole lot of people who even know about my fetish. Those few who do don't share it and therefore have no connection with it and wouldn't know what to say about it.

Me, personally, I see this as a great thing that can make for more than just a sexual kink, due to it being linked to fantasy very strongly.
That may be the artist in me talking, but it's great fodder for stories that simply become more appealing when there's some giantess content added. It's like cooking something up, putting in an ingredient that you already know you enjoy to increase the chance of tasting great.
And especially since I'm recently more active talking to people via skype who are into giantess I can say, at least to me, it's lots of fun to have someone likeminded by your side.

If you want to argue that sexual preference is nothing to celebrate, just take a look at the gay community. They apparently love doing that. There's S&M related conventions of sorts, exhibits on porn in general, lots of times people come together for sexual content. Although I'd prefer to exclude those that are only for selling purposes, since this con is mostly not about that.

Anyway, I, myself, would say that creating a place for people who share an interest is a commendable intention. Human interaction in general is a nice thing.
And being able to talk about things you can usually can't talk about with others, or even just knowing that the person in front of you is likeminded while you talk about something else entirely, definitely has it's own quality.

I actually see only one way this convention could be a complete failure. And that's if people don't even give it a chance.
And looking at their kickstarter it currently feels like there's a chance it won't happen.
Which is sad in my eyes. Because whether it would go well or not, I'd be very interested in the outcome.
