Most people can put aside unrealistic elements of scif-fi but its not as easy to excuse when it comes to things we have in real life. For example we could a cold fusion bomb being carried around that can destroy a small country, but if someone threw a grenade and destroyed and entire city block most people would call BS.

Sure, and Star Wars would be more realistic if they used actual lasers or high-speed mass drivers so they could hit fast-moving targets at a long range. But if it was realistic, we wouldn't have lightsabers and AT-AT's, would we?

You know, I was thinking so too, but I was just editing the pic last night and I noticed the scale was 190 (about 11'5"), which IIRC was the same scale as Squash Match 3. For most of Squash Match 4, her scale is 210 (about 13'0".) So in this case, I think it has more to do with perspective than anything.

I guess sending in ground forces always makes for a good plot. In reality its more likely they would only be there to evacuate the area while avoiding contact for an air strike.
